Portland Office
Mark Hepner, SRA
Principal
Mark
is a native Oregonian and Portland resident for the past 25 years. He
graduated from the University of Oregon in Business Administration with
major fields of study in Real Estate and Urban Economics, and continues
his education with professional classes and seminars. Mark has over 30
years of appraisal experience and holds the prestigious SRA designation
from the Appraisal Institute. He has been with the firm since 1983 and
co-owner/manager of Portland Residential Appraisals since 1989. Specialties
include complex and high end residential properties, litigation work,
and Central Coast properties. Mark is licensed as a Certified Residential
Appraiser in the State of Oregon and is FHA approved. His interests include
fishing (guiding in Alaska), running (has completed several marathons),
and he enjoys spending time with family on their rural home site near
Portland.

Steve Gentzkow, MAI, SRA
Principal
Steve
has been a lifelong resident of the Portland Metro area. He graduated
from Portland State University with a BS degree in Business Administration,
which included classes in Real Estate Law, Principles, Finance, and Appraisal,
as well as continuing education as required for his professional designations
and State licensing. Steve has over 30 years of appraisal experience,
including 5 years as a commercial appraiser, and holds the MAI and SRA
designations from the Appraisal Institute. He has owned and managed Portland Residential Appraisals with Mark since its beginning in 1989. Steve's professional
specialties include high end properties, new construction, appraisal review,
litigation, and North Coast properties. He is licensed as a Certified
General Appraiser and is FHA approved. When not working, he enjoys golf,
fishing, and youth sports.

Charmin Aschenbrener
Charmin has been licensed for several years and is a valuable member of the Portland staff. She graduated from Oregon State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Nutrition and worked for the county as an Environmental Health Specialist prior to her joining the firm. Charmin has traveled extensively in Europe, enjoys hiking, various outdoor activities and spending time with her husband and their newborn baby.

Corrie Cieslak
Corrie Cieslak joined the Portland Residential team in the summer of 2005 as an administrative assistant and is now the Office Manager and Bookkeeper of our firm. If you need any assistance with accounts receivable, payable, human resources, or just about anything, Corrie is the one to call. To say that she is a bundle of energy would be an understatement, and you will find her in the office flying from one task to the other and keeping the appraisers on their toes. In her personal life she enjoys various outdoor activities, and spending time with her dog Leia. She plays in a softball league, teaches snowboarding, and most recently joined the Portland Rose City Rollers roller derby league (not kidding).

Sue Epping
Susan is the most recent addition to the Portland staff. She has spent almost 30 years in the real estate industry with a career that began in sales, with the past 19 years focused on real estate appraising. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with an emphasis in Urban Planning and Land Use as well as years of continuing appraisal education. Susan enjoys fishing, skiing, beach volleyball, and photography. She also spends time volunteering with Wilderness Search & Rescue on horseback. At the end of a busy day, Susan enjoys spending time with her two children, two horses, two dogs and one cat.

Richard Galster
Rich has
over 20 years of appraisal experience, as well as over 10 years in the
banking industry in a wholesale, loan origination, and management capacity.
Rich has an Associates Degree in Architecture as well as certificates
in Business Management, Real Estate, Mortgage lending, Management, Marketing
and ongoing Appraisal classes and seminars. He is a past Vice President
of the Oregon Mortgage Bankers Association and was named the Outstanding
Young Mortgage Banker in 1988. Rich's impressive resume does not overshadow
his accomplishments of being a very good appraiser, who serves his clients
well, providing quality appraisal reports in a timely manner. He is often
referred to as 'the nicest guy in the World', is FHA certified and has
the knowledge and experience to appraise most all property types. Rich
enjoys his family, friends, and many outdoor activities, with a special
passion for golf.

Maureen Healy
Maureen comes to Portland Residential Appraisers as an appraiser assistant, after 10 years as a magazine editor for publications including Shape and Fit Pregnancy magazines. Originally from Virginia, Maureen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Media Studies from Radford University in 1996, then relocated to Los Angeles, where she remained until the beauty of the Pacific Northwest beckoned her to move to Portland in 2006. Her hobbies include learning to knit, yoga, reading, and live concerts--especially the Dave Matthews Band. And, she's an avid fan of So You Think You Can Dance.

Betsy Johnson
Betsy joined the administrative staff of Portland Residential Appraisals in the summer of 2006. She handles numerous and varied tasks throughout the office, and has recently become “the voice” of Portland Residential, as the title of receptionist has been handed to her. When calling Portland Residential you’ll reach this soft-spoken woman, and may find it hard to believe (as did the rest of the staff) that Betsy is a singer in a local Portland band. Betsy spends much of her free time working toward a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design. She also enjoys spending time with friends, family, in libraries and museums, and watching movies and television.

Carla Johnson
Carla joined Portland Residential Appraisals in 2004. Before this endeavor, she spent 10 years with AT&T Wireless Services in various leadership roles. Carla graduated from Western Oregon State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences and a Minor in Psychology. Carla has been a lifelong resident of Oregon. Her knowledge and proficiency makes her a valuable asset to our Portland office. In Carla’s free time she enjoys fishing, watching football and spending time with her husband, new baby, and two dogs.

Steve Lindsey
Steve Lindsey has become recently licensed after working with Steve Gentzkow over the past two years gaining broad experience appraising a variety of properties and learning the intricacies of the appraisal business. Steve has been a life long resident of Portland’s east county area, where he currently resides on his small farm. Steve attended Portland State University majoring in education and continues his appraisal education through ongoing seminars and classes. He has 30 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, with the last 20 years as an electrician, a background that is invaluable in the appraisal field. When not working, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, working and hanging out on his small farm, fishing, camping, and being outdoors.

Mark Marcus
Mark has been a lifelong resident of the Portland Metro area. He graduated

Mark is a senior appraiser, has been a licensed appraiser in Oregon since
1988, and has been with Portland Residential Appraisals since 1998. Mark is FHA approved
and has the education, experience and knowledge to appraise any residential
property thrown at him. When not working, Mark enjoys numerous and varied
activities.

Ramona T. McAuley
Mona has been with Portland Residential Appraisals since 2004. She started her appraisal career in 1991 with Bank of America in California. She is currently a certified residential appraiser in the state of Oregon, and continues to hold certified residential licenses in the states of Washington and Texas. Mona has the knowledge and experience to appraise most all residential property types. In her free time, Mona enjoys a variety of activities including fly fishing, camping, kayaking, sculling, wine tasting and sailing.

Bruce Morgan
Bruce is a native Oregonian and has a BS from the University of Oregon. He's been married for nearly 30 years to a native of Madrid, Spain and has 2 children (one a graduate of OSU, the other at the U of O), both have recently been granted dual citizenship. Bruce enjoys all sorts of outdoor activities, especially golf, and the beaches of Spain.

Sean Stortzum
Sean has been a licensed appraiser for two years on the Portland staff and is quickly gaining the experience and knowledge of a seasoned professional. Sean comes to the firm from the business world, prior to that he graduated with a Bachelors degree in History from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. Sean played on the school’s football and track teams, and was a State champion sprinter in Washington. Sean’s interests include football, travel, Texas Hold-em Poker and he is a passionate Seattle Seahawks fan.

Doug Willner
Doug Willner works with Steve Gentzkow as an appraiser assistant gaining knowledge and experience to become a licensed appraiser. Doug’s educational background includes a communications degree from Oregon State University, as well as on going appraisal education classes. He previously worked in the field of customer relations and sales for large Portland companies. In his spare time Doug enjoys activities with his family and enjoys skiing, and various outdoor activities. He is looking forward to gaining additional experience in the appraisal industry, and working on the necessary hours and education to receive his appraisal license.

Salem Office
Cindy Myra
Cindy is a licensed residential appraiser in Oregon and Washington. She has been appraising since February of 2005 and is currently working on her education and hours to become a Certified Residential Appraiser in 2007. Prior to the appraisal business, Cindy worked in Real Estate Sales and held several accounting positions at the Fred Meyer corporate offices in Portland. She is a native Oregonian and has completed numerous college hours in Economics, Accounting and Business at Clackamas and Chemeketa Community Colleges. When not working she enjoys sports of all kinds, wine tasting, and riding and competing in cutting horse competitions.
